Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are a technique that involves injecting hyaluronic acid under the skin (and sometimes the muscle) of the face to achieve a desired result. There are many brands of hyaluronic acid and Francis Clinic only use the world’s leading brands.

Hyaluronic acid is a molecule that is produced naturally within the body, therefore allergic reactions to the substance itself are extremely rare. When used as dermal fillers, hyaluronic acid is manufactured as a gel that binds water and encourages a filling of the tissue under the skin. The fillers integrate with your facial tissue exceptionally well, which if administered correctly, produce natural-looking and beautiful results.

Dermal Fillers last between 6 and 24 months depending on the thickness of the filler, the area treated and your metabolism. The hyaluronic acid is absorbed into the body slowly over time and is a gradual and safe process.

The dermal fillers used at Francis Clinic contain local anaesthetic which helps to reduce pain and discomfort during and after treatment. Generally speaking, whilst the process can feel strange and a little uncomfortable, it is not a particularly painful procedure.

Dermal filler results are instant, and there is no down time. Whilst swelling and mild bruising is common, the procedure is regarded as non-invasive.
